Things I Can't Do Without in My Kitchen, Part 5

My 5 whisks.  I must say, I have only used my largest one once or twice...I don't have that many recipes that call for something that gregarious.  But, I had to have it in my collection.  I'm usually not that frivolous, but if I didn't have it, of course the need would be there.  The smallest one I use for mixing dry mustard and water in a little pyrex bowl for hot mustard sauce.  It's a tiny little thing and fits the custard dish perfectly.  The three in the middle I use fairly often so can't really point out anything specifically about them, except for the fact that they are there when I need them.  But, the true star of the show is my flat whisk at the bottom of the picture.  About 10 years ago, my friend, Leslie, bought this for me after she heard me talking about wanting a flat whisk.   It is the best thing since sliced bread, and a "must" when you need to whisk something in a round saucepan.  It goes around the inner edge of the pan smoothly, so that your sauces, etc. don't burn, as they would with a regular whisk, which can't get into the bottom edges of a saucepan.  It has saved me many a time from a white sauce, gravy or custard going off the deep end because I was able to get in touch with everything in the pan with that whisk.   Love that whisk, and love Leslie...two friends I can't be without!!!  Below are the whisks, and Les and me at a party earlier this year...
